I had set myself a target of the consoles that I wanted.
#DIE HARD TRILOGY 2 PS1 TV#
The games and consoles kept flowing and space started to become rather sparse, so I went from one small book-case and 1 tv with 1 console to 2 TV’s, 3 bookcases, 14 consoles and a room that I was covering in gaming art and accessories. I started to move on to make my own videos about pick ups, games I loved and just general gaming chat… again. I was looking over eBay for hours and hours, speaking to as many people as I could about gaming and their experiences, searching YouTube for videos of other collectors and retro games I may not have heard about… it was very addictive!!!! I had truly been bitten by the retro bug. The only thing left to say is YIPPEE KI-YAY MOTHER FUC**R!!! Overall the game is everything you would expect it to be if you’ve seen the films and if you’re not a fan, then u will be after playing these. This is by far the most difficult one of all three and after a bazzilion lives and the sheer look of disappointment and disgust in Sam’s big plastic eyes I decide to call it a night. The trend follows as straight away you find your self in the thick of the action as you drive, zoom and speed your way down every street, road and back alley in New York trying to stop bombs and grab those very important few extra seconds of time. So I put him on a chair next to me, but I can’t help but think he looks more worried than I do. Then I realise that my son’s toy giraffe is called Sam and he’s going to have to do. Straight away I begin to panic as driving games are not in my comfort zone, wishing I had Samuel l Jackson with me for his sarcasm, white humour and help. Like the first game, it plays so quick and the levels fly by as I start wishing my gun was a permanent grenade launcher as those little coloured targets help to get me out of so many tricky situations as Die Hard 2 turns into my favorite part of the game. With all the bases covered and a selection of modes that will appeal to a wide range of different gamers, its time to get my pack of beers out the fridge and get ready to get my freak on….īig blocky graphics (at its best) is the first thing u see as you come down the lift into the car park, the game doesn’t take long to pick up speed and things soon become fast and furious, although I really should stop blowing up the cars I’m standing next to!!! The game play is smooth and fun as I make my way through the levels killing all the bad guys while trying to save as many hostages as I can, but I start to get an itchy trigger finger so decide to plug my gun in and move on to Die Harder 2 Die Harder.Īfter spending so much time trying to save the hostages in Die Hard and tanked up on some beers I decide to go A.W.O.L. You get 3rd person shooter with Die Hard, a light gun shoot ’em up with Die Harder and finally a driving game with Die Hard with a vengeance. Straight away the game stands out from others as it offers you 3 different genres, covering the films in the trilogy. I give it a 7-5- When you group the three genres together and throw in the story line and what not, it gets an additional half point.I think we all dream about killing a few terrorists and saving the world from time to time, well now it’s time to turn my dreams into reality, or at least virtual reality, as I check out Die hard trilogy for the PS1. There are a huge number of power-ups, and plenty of things to blow up.

Lastly, there's the shooting part of DHT2: It's easily the best part of the game, and is GunCon-compatible. Thankfully, you don't experience this as much in the city driving levels (which are actually pretty fun). Using reverse and then drive (as you would in most driving games to get out of a jam) proves to be a ridiculously tedious process-it's better just to restart the level. All too often you get stuck on objects jutting out from the sides of a particular area. Next, there's the driving portion of the game: The control is the main problem here. Overall, it's tedious, and would score a 5.0 on its own. Sometimes enemies just stand there while you shoot them. And the Al is either really smart, or really dumb. First, there's the third-person action-type gameplay: It's littered with tiny graphical glitches like clipping and polygon dropout here and there. And while this sequel does essentially the same thing, it doesn't do it quite as well. The original DHT combined three genres-a third-person action game, a shooting game and a driving game-in one nifty package.
